  • BAM is proud to offer a 6-session songwriting course with award-winning songwriter, producer, and musical director Jude Gitamondoc.  The class will begin on Saturday, July 6 from 1-4pm and will run six consecutive Saturdays through August, 10.  The class is an intensive course on songwriting with a total of 18 hours of instruction.

This course is different than most songwriting workshop in that two songs will be performed on stage at Ayala Center Cebu on Saturday, September 21.  Most songwriting workshops are strictly academic in nature, meaning that the teacher gives the students information and tips on how to improve their songwriting skills and at the conclusion of the workshop that is it.  In this course, the students will receive in-depth instruction and will also have the chance to have their new songs have a public performance.  The class will also learn about the co-writing process and will write one song as a group.  That song will be performed as well as one song written by an individual songwriter that is chosen the best of the course.

Last year, the songwriting class wrote the song “Breakup Countdown.”  It was found to be of such high quality that it was professionally produced and released on digital platforms, such as iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, etc.  A lyric video was also produced and released through YouTube and Facebook.  If a similar high quality song is written again this year, it may also be produced and released.

The Elite BAMStars, a group of advanced singers that represent the school, have been invited to perform at the Pinoy Playlist music festival in Manila this October.  If a song from the workshop is produced, it may be performed as part of the music festival as well.

Slots are limited for the songwriting course, so it is best to enroll soon.  Previous songwriting experience is not required.  Students must be 14 years old and up, it is best if the student knows how to play a melodic instrument such as guitar or keyboard/piano.  There is a discounted rate available for students who are already enrolled in BAM.  Visit BAM in the Northgate Centre in Banilad (across the street from Country Mall and next door to UC-Banilad) or call (032)410-7580 or (0925)567-6565 for more information.
